Good to know
Questions, answered straight
The things people ask before they book — home, office and abroad. If yours isn’t here, the form or a quick email will sort it.
Getting started
Do you cover all of Edgware, or just the Broadway end?
All of it, and well past it. Edgware is home base, but a normal week takes us up to Stanmore (HA7), across to Burnt Oak and Canons Park, down the A5 into Colindale and Kingsbury (NW9), and over to Mill Hill (NW7) and Hendon. If you’re somewhere along the top of the Northern line, you’re on our patch.
You do offices as well as houses — is one the sideline?
Neither. Around Edgware the office and commercial work is every bit as busy as the home moves, so we treat both as the main event. Same crews, same care — a business relocation just adds a floor plan, some out-of-hours planning and the IT to think about. Head to the office-removals page for how that side runs.
How do you price a move without seeing the place first?
We start from what you tell us — rooms or desks, floors, lift or stairs, anything heavy or awkward — then confirm it with a video walk-round or a visit before anything’s fixed. Volume, distance and access are what shape it. Your written quote sets out exactly what’s included, so there’s no guessing on either side.
Can you move us abroad as well as across London?
Happily. The same team that clears a Broadway flat also loads for France, Italy, Spain and Portugal. The European side adds a route plan and the customs paperwork on top of the ordinary packing and loading — and that part is ours to handle, not yours to learn.
What if I only want help with part of it?
That’s a common ask and an easy yes. Plenty of people box up their own things and just want the muscle and the van for the day; others want us to wrap the fragile stuff and leave the rest. Tell us where you’d like the line drawn and we’ll scope only that.
Moving within Edgware & NW London
My road off the Broadway is tight with no driveway — is that a problem?
Not around here it isn’t. A lot of HA8 is 1930s semis with on-street parking, and the newer blocks near the station have their own access quirks. We check parking at the survey, sort a bay suspension with the council where the load-in needs it, and bring a smaller vehicle to shuttle if the lorry can’t get right to the door.
Do you move the new-build flats near Edgware and Colindale?
Regularly. The blocks around Colindale and Edgware station come with booking sheets, service lifts and loading-bay windows, and we’re used to working to them. Give us the building’s rules when you enquire and we’ll plan the day around the lift slot so nothing overruns.
Can you handle a move between the Northern-line towns — Burnt Oak, Mill Hill, Stanmore?
That’s our bread and butter. Edgware sits right where Barnet meets Harrow, so short hops to Burnt Oak, Mill Hill, Stanmore, Canons Park and Hendon are the everyday work. Short distance still gets the full treatment — proper wrapping, proper protection on the floors and banisters.
Do you offer storage if my dates don’t line up?
Yes. If completion slips or there’s a gap between the old place and the new one, we can hold your things and bring them on when you’re ready. It’s a normal part of plenty of NW-London chains, so flag it early and we’ll build it into the plan rather than scramble later.
How far ahead should I get in touch?
As soon as you’ve got a likely date in mind. Fridays and month-ends fill first because that’s when completions cluster, so the earlier you talk to us the more say you have over the day. Working to a tight turnaround? Tell us, and we’ll be straight about what’s doable.
Office & commercial moves
Can you move our office without shutting us down for the week?
That’s the whole point of how we plan it. Most commercial moves around Edgware run in the evening or across a weekend so nobody loses a working day. We sequence it so the phones, the servers and the day-one essentials come off the van first and go live first — you walk in to a floor that already works.
Do you handle the IT — servers, workstations, the comms room?
We do. Workstations get labelled to a desk plan, cables bagged and tagged, and the server and comms kit crated and moved with the care it needs. We’ll work alongside your IT people on the power-down and power-up order so the racks come back up in the right sequence at the new address.
We’re on an upper floor near Brent Cross with shared lifts — can you work with that?
Yes — that’s standard for the business space around Brent Cross, Staples Corner and Colindale. We book the service lift and loading bay in advance, protect the communal areas, and bring the crew size the access actually needs rather than rushing kit through a tight window.
Can you move us in stages so trading isn’t interrupted?
Often the smartest way to do it. Shops and offices that can’t go dark move department by department, or floor by floor, on a schedule we set with you. You keep serving customers or clients while the rest crosses town in the background.
Do you move shops and studios, not just desks?
We do — retail units changing premises, small studios and workshops, medical and dental practices with equipment that needs a steady pair of hands. Tell us what’s in the space and what has to keep working, and we’ll plan the lift-out and the set-up around it.
Moving abroad
What happens with customs now the UK’s outside the EU?
There’s paperwork both ends now — an inventory, a transit declaration for the goods crossing the EU, and the transfer-of-residence forms where they apply. We prepare it with you and lodge what needs lodging. It’s a process, not a wall, and it’s the part we take off your plate so you can get on with the move itself.
Do you fill a whole lorry, or can I share the space?
Both. A full home usually wants a dedicated load. If you’re sending less — a flat, part of a house, or you’re not in a hurry — a shared or part-load puts your things on a vehicle already heading that way. Your quote will say which suits what you’re moving.
How long does a European move take to arrive?
It depends on the route, the crossing, whether it’s a dedicated or shared load, and how customs clears at the far end. Rather than quote a figure that turns out wrong, your written quote gives you an estimated window and we keep you posted as the load makes its way across.
Which countries do you actually move to from Edgware?
The four we run regularly are France, Italy, Spain and Portugal — we know those roads, the crossings and the customs steps for each. If you’re weighing up somewhere else in Europe, ask anyway; we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s something we can plan properly or not.
Still wondering about something specific? The Edgware removals, office and European pages go into more detail — or just send your details and ask.
Your move starts here
Right then — where are we taking you?
Home or office, across the Broadway or out to the coast of Portugal — tell us the shape of the move and we’ll come back with a plan and a written quote.
